Global Hotel Giant Accor to Debut in Hakuba with Two New Novotel Properties
Accor one of the world-leading hospitality group based in Paris, France (Headquarters: France; Japan Corporation: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director for Japan: Dean Daniels)—and AQUA RESORT Co., Ltd. have concluded an operation contract for two “Novotel” brand hotels in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture. Both hotels will be located near Hakuba Station and are planned for development in a highly convenient location within approximately a 5-minute walk. The openings are scheduled for autumn 2030 and autumn 2033, respectively, marking Accor’s first entry into the Hakuba area.

This development is part of Accor’s medium-to-long-term strategy to strengthen its expansion into high-growth resort areas, aiming to provide experiences that balance commercial value with essential appeal for guests.
Novotel scheduled to open in autumn 2030
The hotel scheduled to open in 2030 will feature 82 guest rooms and will include a restaurant and fitness center. Anticipating winter demand, it will be equipped with a specialized drying room for ski equipment, and a parking lot for approximately 32 vehicles will be prepared to accommodate guests arriving by car. It will provide a comfortable and functional space for domestic and international travelers seeking an active stay.
Novotel scheduled to open in autumn 2033
The hotel scheduled to open in 2033 will feature 120 guest rooms to meet larger-scale stay needs. The restaurant and bar are planned to be designed as spaces that serve as interaction hubs for guests. Furthermore, in addition to a fitness center, a large hot spring bath (onsen) is planned to be installed to meet the expectations of travelers from inside and outside Japan. The facility will be configured to handle group use and long-term stays, equipped with a specialized drying room for ski equipment and parking for approximately 70 vehicles.
By utilizing their close proximity to each other, both hotels will aim to improve recognition and strengthen the presence of the “Novotel” brand in the Hakuba area, while responding to increasing accommodation demand.
