The Best Pizza in Hakuba

The newest entry to the Hakuba bar & restaurant scene, Blizzard boasts one of the only wood-fired pizza ovens in the Hakuba Valley. This authentic Italian style pizza will transport your taste buds to Tuscany and your mind to romantic Florentine streets.

Head Chef

The person manning the oven is Paolo Coluccio, the former national champion of Italy’s most prestigious pizza making competition. Paolo also owns a fine dining business in Tuscany and successfully opened and operated an Italian restaurant in Sydney. Blizzard’s menu reflects Paolo’s extensive experience and include classic Italian dishes in addition to more modern interpretations. Some of the Paolo’s favorite dishes include: Caprese Salad, Tiramisu, and Focaccia.

Coccoli. Mouthwatering deep fried pizza dough served with Parma ham and soft cheese. Perfect with a glass of red
Gluten free pasta, one of the many gluten free items on the menu.

Blizzard also opens for breakfast and serves espressos and delicious breakfasts for the early risers starting at 7A.M. It’s a great place to caffeinate and fuel up with an bacon & egg sandwich before catching first lifts at the gondola across the street.

Blizzard sits in the center of Happo Village, directly across from the Happo Gondola. You can’t miss Blizzard’s wood panel facade while walking up to the gondola.

Cool. Modern. Artsy. The two story restaurant and bar has high ceilings with dark and vibrant colors intermingling throughout. Visitors entering Blizzard are immediately greeted with an impressive black metal  staircase spiraling up to the second floor. The 2-story wall behind it displays a collage of skis from floor to ceiling, evoking an 80’s retro vibes.
